GRA Certification
Every AK Jewelry piece is set with VVS-clarity, GRA certified moissanite — here's what that actually means.
What is GRA?
The Gemological Research Academy (GRA) is an independent gem-grading body that evaluates moissanite the same way institutes like GIA grade diamonds: by clarity, cut, and color. A GRA certificate is a third-party guarantee that a stone meets the grade it's sold at, rather than taking a seller's word for it.
What "VVS" means
VVS stands for "Very, Very Slightly Included" — one of the highest clarity grades a stone can carry. At this grade, any inclusions are effectively invisible to the naked eye, so the stone reads as clean and bright in everyday light.
Why our moissanite passes a diamond tester
Diamond and moissanite conduct heat in a strikingly similar way, which is what standard handheld diamond testers actually measure. That's why moissanite consistently passes the same thermal-conductivity testers jewelers use to check diamonds — it isn't a trick, it's simply how the stone is built at a molecular level.
Why moissanite instead of a mined diamond
Moissanite offers comparable brilliance and hardness to a diamond at a fraction of the price, without the environmental and supply chain concerns tied to diamond mining. That's the trade we built AK Jewelry around: the same fire, the same tester results — without the diamond price tag.
