No, and we would never say otherwise. It is moissanite — a separate gemstone that is D–E colorless, VVS clarity, GRA certified, and 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale. It passes a handheld diamond tester because it conducts heat the way a diamond does. It costs a fraction of a diamond and it will not cloud or dull.
Will it tarnish?
Our gold filled pieces resist tarnish far better than plated jewelry, because the bonded gold layer is roughly a hundred times thicker. Solid sterling silver will develop a patina over time — that is normal for the metal, and a few seconds with a polishing cloth brings the shine straight back.
Neither will turn your skin green. To keep either looking new, avoid lotion, perfume and chlorine, and take your piece off before swimming.
Is it hypoallergenic?
